Custom Sized Tongue and Groove ShuttersReal Tongue & GrooveWhen we first began building this style of European shutter we knew that we wanted to make it historically accurate. Beyond the traditional pegged, mortise and tenon joinery found on all of our shutters we would also use real tongue & groove boards. This meant individual boards with tongue & groove edge joints and not just a v-groove routed into a wood panel as is often found today. Not only does this give our tongue & groove shutters a more pleasing look but it makes them stronger. An Elegant DesignThe simple combination of fixed louvers and tongue & groove give this shutter an old world look that cannot be found elsewhere. This style can be found throughout Europe and was inspiring enough that Claude Monet had his home in Giverny, France fitted with some on the ground floor. Today we make our own version of this shutter style in the hope of inspiring you.Standard Features
