	Use Hinges can be used on both functional and decorative shutters.   For functional shutters they are needed to allow the shutters to close during storms or for general security.  The Caribbean hinge is designed to hold the shutter away from the house which makes it ideal for homes with storm windows. On decorative shutters they allow the shutter to be lifted up and off the house for ease of cleaning and painting.
